The Victory Spring of a Guardsman

Ilya Mironov—the Rosgvardiya lieutenant from the 21st century—ends up in the Great Patriotic War. Starting hostilities in 1941 as a sergeant under someone else’s documents, Ilya, thanks to his skills and courage, rose to the rank of senior lieutenant and became a company commander. He was awarded repeatedly with orders and medals. He never hid behind other people, never sat out in the rear—he always fought in the most dangerous sectors of the front: in Belarus, near Moscow, and on the Kursk Bulge. The victorious spring of 1945 meets the reconnaissance guardsman on the approaches to East Prussia—the cradle of German militarism.
