Junkyard Planet. No Man's World

A human from Earth, Klim Voronov, ends up on a prison planet owned by a private corporation. Here people are powerless slaves, deprived of the ability to leave the world where their lives are worth nothing. Outside the jurisdiction of states, the corporation has owned a whole network of such planets and hundreds of processing complexes for several centuries: ships old and damaged are brought here from all corners of the galaxy, because this is the only place where their official dismantling is permitted. The corporation doesn’t release the slaves and doesn’t replace them with new ones—keeping a “living resource” is too profitable in a constant economy.

In this hell, Klim must not only survive but accomplish almost the impossible: organize an escape with nothing but his own endurance, an idea, and a carefully planned scheme.
