Written from the perspective of a maester who lived during the reign of Aerys the Mad. “The first volume reveals the story of all the Targaryens from Aegon I the Conqueror to the period of regency under Aegon III during the Dragonfall— as described by George Martin— as well as their wives, battles, kin, children, friends, enemies, laws, travels, and more. If you’re not familiar with the history of Westeros, this reign includes Aegon I, Aenys, Maegor the Cruel, Jaehaerys I the Peaceful, Viserys I, Aegon II, and Rhaenyra, the regencies under Aegon III. And there are dragons here too. Very many dragons.” The second volume has not been written yet, but it will cover subsequent events up to Robert Baratheon’s Rebellion and the overthrow of the Targaryen dynasty.
