The Pet

It’s always been the way that people constantly end up somewhere—especially in literature. There are countless “portal people” who get dropped into all sorts of situations—any kind, any color. Where only they, poor things, haven’t ended up! I’d also like to end up in “Star Wars,” but I got stuck in the body of a small dragonling. That’s not about literature, I’ll tell you. Things are much worse here—dangers at every step, vicious cats, and no peace from the janitors. Look away—swallowed! Snap with your jaws—off to the mage for ingredients! Horror! What heroics can there be, folks, when you’re smaller than a sparrow?

Meanwhile, my fate fell and I got as much as a pound of salt for my tail—and heroics were more than enough.
