Erik Münz went from an unnamed ward in a forgotten orphanage at the edge of the world to a brilliant officer whom the ruler—emperor himself—awarded with the highest order of the empire, the “Star and Sword.” But between “that” and “this” were years of incredible labor, meteoric rises and falls—and of course, space battles, in which Lieutenant Münz, piloting a heavy rocket carrier, led his strike frigate into suicidal attacks on enemy ships. And those attacks were successful—because otherwise our story would have ended much earlier.
