The MediaBook studio presents an audiobook of famous science-fiction writers Marina and Sergey Dyachenko—"Transplants #1," winners of the international literary contest for fantasy writers "EURO-CON." The book is read by popular film actress and dubbing artist Yulia Tarkhova and by dubbing artist and actor Maksim Galits.
"A large operating room, equipped with the latest technology. Two bodies lie on two tables: one patient under deep anesthesia, the other dead—deadly blue, covered in ice. On both necks there are outlines of the incision that will be made. On the display—zeros. At the same time, two medical teams start work on both tables: scalpels touch the skin. Assistants help surgeons, operating room nurses hand over instruments, and electronic microscopes are running… A selection of video clips from news of the near future: connecting a human head with a new body. An animated diagram showing the process of reuniting blood vessels, neurons, and tissues. Title card: “A new body transplant has been performed in Germany. This is the twentieth anniversary operation of this kind in the world.” A person’s eyes open in an ICU bed. The same person, now in a wheelchair with a supportive collar, makes uncertain, mechanical movements with his hand… Title card: “A patient who survived a radical body transplant died on the twenty-first day after surgery.” New shots from the operating room. Title card: “Great Britain has joined the UN Convention banning body transplants as an inhumane, unethical, and suffering-causing method.”
On Yulia Tarkhova’s account are roles in Russian and Soviet cult films “Tomorrow Was War (1987),” “The Quiet Outpost (1985),” “Zina-Zinulya (1986),” “Recruited by the Revolution,” “Red Cherry (1995),” and dubbing in dozens of films, including such bestsellers as “Spy Bridge (2015),” “Number 44 (2014),” and many others.
