This story tells of a person who, by the will of fate, sank to the very bottom. It seems his life should have ended in a filthy basement due to an overdose—yet the world around him suddenly changed. World War Three erased all major cities from the face of the earth, leaving alive only a miserable handful of humanity. Infected wastelands, mutated animals, no food or water. He has already experienced much of this while living on the street. But fate gave Gere a second chance, rewarding him with something unusual. The question is whether he will use it—whether he can climb out on his own and help other people understand how much the world they live in has changed. And if so, what will come of it?
