Cracking the Glass Ceiling: Overcoming Barriers to Women's Career Growth

This book is an attempt by Harvard Business School professors to systematize the results of many years of work by specialists in organizational behavior, psychology, economics, sociology, and law to study the deep causes of gender imbalance in society and, in particular, in office environments. The authors’ goal is, on the one hand, to generalize research findings for everyone who wants to understand why gender equality still remains an illusion—showing organizational structures and types of thinking that contribute to the persistence of the gap. On the other hand, they aim to provide guidance on eliminating gender bias. It’s a reminder that global change—in public consciousness, business, and any other structures—always happens as the result of collective work by individual people committed to a shared idea.
