After a successfully carried-out operation, it’s not a sin to have a drink. That’s how the fighters of Romadanov’s special forces decided it. Especially since their unit commander—the newly appointed captain Ilya Ivanov—fully deserves the nickname—Lieutenant Rzhevsky. During this “business,” Ilya becomes sworn brothers with a rather strange but solid guy named Ivan, the widower’s son. And as proof of the brotherly bond, Ivan gives the special forces captain a dagger—the very “little stone” that triggered the “avalanche.”
Thanks to this gift, Ilya ends up in the Thrice-Ninth Kingdom instead of his sworn brother, where they mistake him for Ivan. And so, so as not to let down his new named brother and not to disgrace the honor of the Russian uniform, Ilya Ivanov decides to deal with the local evil spirit—sometimes as the special forces captain, and sometimes as the true Lieutenant Rzhevsky.
