Dangerous Bait

To find treasure, to wake up one day to a call from an unknown grandpa-millionaire who, with his life almost at an end, has no one to pass his wealth to— or to come across an ancient relic that grants its owner health and good luck—those are some of Semen Zaitsev’s dreams. So when the guy is offered the chance to take part in deciphering a mysterious message to humanity, he agrees without hesitation. Only later does he realize that being chosen isn’t such a good thing.

Let’s say he could somehow put up with the unusual visions in mirrors; dreams with hints about opaque circumstances are a minor matter; even close attention from special services is tolerable… But when a real hunt by ruthless strangers begins, you can’t help thinking: did he agree too quickly? Though what is there to think about? After all, what’s done can’t be undone… Or… They say laws don’t apply to the chosen. They must be lying…
