A continuation of the adventures of our contemporary Andrei Chernikov in the last century, which began in the novels “The Hunter for Wunderwaffe” and “The Hunter for Popadents.”
Now the roles have changed—on Chernikov, in the summer of 1944, trying to take out a pregnant agentess from the Third Reich, are hunted not only by fascist special services, but also by hostile outsiders arriving from the distant and "bright" future, who have combat training on the level of elite assault battalion fighters.
Because of haste and direct betrayal, not only the main but also the backup evacuation options fall apart, and the road to the collection point passes through burning fronts and the borders of Europe—torn apart by the madness of global war. And it’s unclear what awaits Andrei at the end of the rescue operation—a reward, or a bullet in the back of the head!
