In 1991, according to the plot of Tarmashev’s cycle, fragments of an unknown cosmic object fell into the taiga of the Komi ASSR. At the point of impact, an anomalous zone appears that grows nonstop by about a meter a day. In this zone, the laws of physics stop working.
The government creates the research institute “Areal.” The zone itself is given the same name—“Areal.” The institute investigates the phenomena existing here. A specially created unit of ROA “Areal” ensures the zone’s security from terrorists and, simply, artifact hunters. The plot of the book “The Doomed” unfolds both inside the zone and at its perimeter. In the third book of Tarmashev’s cycle “Areal,” Ivan Berezov has to defend not only the zone, but also a person close to him. “The Doomed” is, for now, the last completed book in the cycle.
