People are no longer people. They don’t talk, don’t feel pain, don’t look for food. They only move toward any sound—and kill. They were dubbed the Silent, but no one understands what happened to them. It isn’t a virus and not a familiar kind of infection. Only empty cities, fear, and a new rule remain: the quieter you live, the better your chances of survival.
Maxim Berkutov, an experienced operative, pulls random survivors out of trouble and gathers a small group around himself. They have to fend off gangs and push through crowds of Silent, step by step closing in on the answer. They’re trying to stop the “silence.”
But very soon it turns out that the catastrophe has a specific source. And the one who set it in motion is more terrifying than any looters—even more terrifying than the Silent themselves.
