“The Inhabited Island” is a science-fiction novella by the brothers A. and B. Strugatsky, written in 1969. It is the first part of the unofficial “Kammerer Trilogy,” which also includes the novellas “Beetle in the Anthill” and “Waves Quench the Wind.” The only one of the three in which the narration is in the third person. It has been published 24 times in 13 countries and is among the classic works of world science fiction.
