I died as a respected professor of anthropology, and woke up inside the body of an unnamed young man in the middle of a tundra steppe, surrounded by cave hyenas. Around me—harsh primordial world of the last Ice Age. And in my head—nothing less than the whole future history of humankind: its breakthroughs, its dead ends.

But no matter what knowledge I possessed, here spear and instinct rule. And to make them hear me, I must first earn a place by the fire. Only then I’ll be able to start my real work: step by step, unnoticed by those around me, I will change the path of an entire species.
