Edith Nesbit (1858–1924) — famous British writer, prose author, and poet, creator of many novels; some of them were adapted into films. We present in audio format one of her most popular books—the final installment in the trilogy about the adventures of children from the Bastable family.
After her wife’s death, the head of the household fell ill for a long time and eventually found himself on the brink of ruin. But his six children do not give up and decide, at any cost, to improve their family’s financial situation. After trying several excellent plans for attracting money, the kids decide to focus on searching for treasure—because it’s the surest way to get the money they so urgently need. In the end, the family is helped financially by their uncle who arrives from India, and the children move to live in his house.
In the concluding book of the trilogy, the six Bastable children try to behave themselves, but, strangely enough, it is precisely because of that that they end up in various scrapes. The adventures of treasure seekers continue—and we are in for new entertaining stories from the world of Edwardian childhood in England.
