Newcomer 2: Champion

From the sparkling ice of the Olympic finals to a hospital bed in a Nizhny Tagil hospital—summer of 1987. Instead of pristine Florida sands, villas on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, and a captain’s patch in the best NHL team—steel Ural skies and a one-room apartment. That’s what fate prepared for me. But I wasn’t one of the best for no reason. If there I became the one whose surname the fans chanted on both sides of the ocean, then I can do it again. Besides, I have no other choice.
