Unseen Warfare

The work of the Reverend Nikodimos is rightfully considered a classic monument of ascetic writing. The manuscript was discovered in the mid-19th century on Mount Athos; based on its dating, it belongs to the 11th–12th centuries. The book is devoted to active piety and shows by what path one may draw near to spiritual perfection. It warns of temptations and enticements, instructs in humility, and teaches one to place one’s entire trust in God.
