“Nemesis” (English: Nemesis) is Agatha Christie’s novel from the series of works about Miss Marple. The novel was written in 1971 and published that same year by Collins Crime Club. This is the last novel Agatha Christie wrote about Miss Marple, but not the last one to be published.
Miss Marple receives a letter from her old friend Mr. James Rafe“?field” (one of the characters from another Agatha Christie novel about Miss Marple, “The Secret of the Caribbean”). In the letter, he asks her to investigate a crime and, if she succeeds, she will receive an inheritance of twenty thousand pounds. Rafe“?field” provides Miss Marple with almost no clues. She doesn’t even know who the victim is.
