Over the years, he did a lot: he united scattered families of the last Neanderthals, resisted the new masters of the world—the Cro-Magnons—and set out with his new kin on the Long Road to settle the empty lands far to the east of the continent. Gone are the tundra-steppes of Europe, the high mountains, the endless islands of the warm sea, battles with enemies—in front of him are thousands of kilometers of travel and new adventures.
