Displaced through time and space, Claude Dupont finds himself in revolutionary France of the late 18th century, where soon he becomes one of the leaders of an international secret organization trying to sabotage the plots of dragons—er, of the “arcs,” aiming to seize the Earth. During one operation, the allies and enemies of transparent—when they end up in a deadlock—are forced to make a joint decision: to hand a powerful artifact to an army general with great promise named Bonaparte. But the game is only beginning, and the debut has to be played out by three young men whom fate has thrown into bustling France from distant Russia: Ostuzyev, Gayevsky, and Baysakov.
