Description

Journalist Mirra travels to a remote village to write an article about a wedding for a mysterious client. Whose wedding it is, she doesn’t know, but on the train she meets two people who are heading there as well. At the platform, one of the locals is waiting for them—a young man named Stepan. Stepan clearly knows more than he says, and he believes in forest spirits, household spirits, and mermaids. He doesn’t keep food in the house and would never, under any circumstances, risk going outside at night. The very first stop at a hunting lodge on the way to the village makes Mirra realize that Stepan isn’t as strange as he seems. Strange—and frightening—is the place they’re headed for. Here, the roads are patrolled by the dead, and the villagers leave treats for them. The more time Mirra spends in the village, the stronger the feeling grows that she bought a one-way ticket. Will she manage to return home, or will she have to stay here forever—also believing what she once thought was just the fantasy of weirdos?
