Minsk Mystique

Tourism for the unclean is a familiar thing. The moment supernatural visitors from other countries arrive in Minsk, they are assigned interpreters—members of a special organization that escorts guest translators and ensures the visitors won’t get into trouble. Eighteen-year-old Rada Vasilkevich is not yet a full-fledged interpreter, but she is practicing on the job. Still, things are getting complicated: one of her wards has gone missing—a strange, quiet tourist from Japan. The “city watch,” which plays the role of the police for non-humans, believes the foreigner has simply gone off having fun, and even other interpreters wave off Rada’s warnings. Only a young city watcher agrees to help her—someone who was suspended from service due to a ridiculous mistake. They begin searching for the missing tourist—and soon they realize the danger isn’t just for one guest, but for the whole city…
