And the fact that an adult person’s consciousness runs the show in his young head doesn’t make life easier. It’s like a fifth wheel on a cart: this consciousness either turns the wrong way or exceeds the speed. Also, memory from the future knows about the imminent collapse of the beloved country called the USSR, and the hero feverishly looks for signs of the coming catastrophe—among friends, new acquaintances, and in everything around him. In this naive and trusting Soviet society, which turns out to be defenseless before cunning and sophisticated evil. And evil must be fought.
