Gurov and Kryachko, colonels of the MIA (Interior Ministry) investigate the circumstances of the death of the artist Vitaliy Lunnoy—whose paintings somehow mystically affect reality. In the midst of the investigation, unknown people kidnap from the museum the artist’s most famous work—"The Portrait of Eternity." The biggest incidents of the last years are connected with this canvas. The detectives understand that for the robbers, this picture is not so much material value as an object of cult worship.
