“The Quiller Memorandum” (1966) describes events taking place in Berlin in the 1960s. According to legend, the novel’s hero, the intelligence agent Quiller, is an employee of the Red Cross searching for relatives of refugees who died in England. But his true mission (formulated in the “memorandum” handed to him) is to track down and destroy the Nazi criminal Heyrich Zossen.
The novel received a prestigious literary award, was translated into 18 languages, and was adapted into a film.
