Stef, an adventurer and collector of unusual things, buys an old army canteen at an underground auction. This spontaneous purchase becomes the beginning of an investigation that leads him to a remote village on the edge of a huge bog.

The locals still believe that deadly dangerous creatures live in the bog, and in its dark waters there lives an ancient fish named Marya. No one has ever stayed on the bog after sunset. No one ever opens the doors to those who come at night—because night is when Marya and her monstrous offspring rule.

But to solve the riddle of the distant past, Stef must become the one who isn’t afraid to take risks in the present.
