A boy from a Moscow children’s home unexpectedly finds himself transported from Russia in 2016 back to the Soviet Union in 1969, thanks to an unusual chain of circumstances: he slips, falls, and suddenly finds himself in the past. Then events become even more unexpected—now he is in 1903, on the eve of the Russo-Japanese War, which he simply couldn’t miss. There isn’t much time, everything happens fast. Max manages to catch up in time, but despite his efforts, the war begins according to the usual scenario. However, his interference changes history slightly—though soon a third party appears as well, getting involved in the conflict as boldly and cynically as always.
