A gangster drama. The main character, Giovanni Manzoni, one of the bosses of the New York mafia, turns in five of the Organization’s most important members (and many smaller ones) and, as part of a witness protection program, hides in a small French town in Normandy. He hides not alone, but with his family: his wife, a 17-year-old daughter, and a 14-year-old son. From boredom, Giovanni (who is now called Fred) starts writing memoirs, and, as a cover story, tells the neighbors he’s a writer. Meanwhile, the capo di tutti capi—thanks to Giovanni—ends up in prison for more than three hundred years, and leaves no hope for revenge on the traitor. And through a chain of unbelievable coincidences, he learns where the traitor is hiding…
