The guards are too tough for an ordinary interrogation. Only thanks to this, the prisoner Ignat manages to hide from the inquisitors at least part of the truth. Despite the beatings and the efforts of a telepath, the guard managed to keep the secret about Anna’s death and its consequences, about Tamara, about some of his assignments and their “nuances.”
When Ignat finally gets free, he cares only about revenge against the people who turned his life into an unbearable ordeal. At the same time, the darkness around him grows thicker. The non-humans sweep everything aside on their path and are about to push the humans out of the territories they have taken back. The forces are unequal, and day by day it gets harder to believe that humanity will be able to resist these merciless creatures.
