A rumor spreads through Scarborough that a serial killer named Crick has been found dead. Nevertheless, Leslie Clyde is convinced it’s not true. The Crick who has become her constant source of fear couldn’t have been caught so easily.
While the police weave intrigues against her beloved, trying to blame him for the crimes, Leslie arranges a celebration in honor of his birthday. But the festivities turn into a nightmare: two of her friends disappear without a trace, and soon everyone except her forgets they ever existed.
