Bastard Erano, a handsome charmer and a notorious ladies’ man, becomes the victim of his brothers, who decide to get rid of the unwanted “illegitimate” child of their father. Erano is sent to another world, and he can return only if he obtains crucial knowledge for his original world. The hero finds himself in the body of a boy, but he is not the only “lodger”: in the same body, the essence of an old wizard has taken up residence as well, though it has not shown any signs of life yet. Erano and his friend Kaya—who also has the essence of a transferred soul within her—become monster hunters under the guidance of Sergius. Training, food, and blood are the price for complete devotion to the mentor. And so begins the long, dangerous journey of the hero toward returning to his world.

In the fifth book, Erano and Kaya managed to move to the next level—into the New Lands. Here, magical abilities do not work as usual; in addition, the heroes will have to start again from the very bottom of the hierarchy and hunt monsters. Meanwhile, the Dark Duke contacts Erano once more and offers him a deal. The story’s details are in the audiobook.
