The life of the main character, Han, is, to put it mildly, not great. His parents died when he was a child, leaving him and his younger sister under his grandmother’s care. Plus there’s a growing debt and loan sharks constantly on his heels. Han really wants his sister Ha Yan (the younger sister) to have a different life—get into a good university, and for his grandmother to finally be able to get treatment at a hospital. That’s why, from an early age, he worked relentlessly, which meant he changed jobs again and again. And the only solace in his life was the computer game “Land of Magic.” Once he maxed out the character, he sold it for an unimaginable sum and, proportionally to that amount, paid off the debt (3 million). Now, once again having nothing, Han decides to start playing a fairly well-known immersion game—The Royal Road. Of course, his only goal was to earn some money—yet fate has its own plans for him.
