The Red Beetle

A group of young people is preparing to become soldiers in a special reconnaissance brigade of the Workers and Peasants Red Army. Ivan Zhukov, known as Zhuk, realizes that the instructors, who had gone through brutal battles, trained them for harsh tests. Cadets learn to survive in any conditions, master weapons, and other skills. Their commander knows what awaits them in the future, and they all prepare for the events of the early 1940s. The author wants to depict the war with a new factor in mind—a person from the future who remembers World War II, but without superpowers or technical knowledge. He tries to reconstruct an alternative chain of events that led Russian soldiers to Berlin and to show the world of that era through the eyes of the heroes.
