Lilian Jackson Braun is an American writer known primarily for the series of books “The Cat Who…”.
In 1966–68, she released the first three novellas about crime-reporting journalist Jim Qwilleran and his Siamese cats—Coco the cat and Yum-Yum the cat.
In 1966, The New York Times named Lilian Braun “the new detective of the year.”
However, due to disagreements with publishers who demanded more “bloody” scenes, the writer refused to continue writing, and the pause lasted 18 years.
But after the break, the detective series “The Cat Who…” remains popular in America and Europe to this day.
