What could be more absurd than a teenager born on a planet with the Kessler syndrome dreaming of becoming a pilot of a spacecraft? On the orbit of Zakharn there is so much debris that even a rocket can’t take off without crashing into some piece of wreckage. Ivar trains on flight simulators and firmly believes that one day the space fleet will come for him with a huge ship—but one fine day he learns that his mentor has not been an officer of the Space Fleet for a long time; there isn’t a snow-removal machine in the barn, either. Instead, there’s an outsider with the appearance of a devil who can unexpectedly become the best friend.
