In the second book of the trilogy “Ash and Sand,” we follow events unfolding far away from cold Askom on the islands. The main hero, disfigured by the giant Roc, finds himself in a new place, where he is surprised by the strange customs of the locals and the wealth around. He begins to study their culture, becomes a friend of King Farahi, and is convinced that the only way to save his people is to conquer the islanders. Many years later, Prince Kaye, Farahi’s son, tries to save his country and looks for allies to free his island from the hands of invaders. He has magical abilities that may help him gain the upper hand over his enemies, but he also suffers from terrifying visions that could turn out to be the key to victory.
