London. 1938. A murder is committed on the Ferris wheel, and the only suspect—the victim’s wife—flatly denies her guilt, despite undeniable evidence against her. Edward Ibbs is a young lawyer, and he takes up her case. As he digs deeper, Ibbs involuntarily gets caught in the dark web of conspiracy and murders. While investigating, he encounters two more completely unbelievable crimes and finds himself in danger too. First, a corpse appears right on the theatre stage during a performance; then, in a locked dressing room backstage, a famous illusionist is killed. And just then, retired magician Joseph Spector enters the game—one who can uncover any deception. But will his deductive abilities be strong enough to understand this tangled series of crimes and save Ibbs?
