This book develops a side plot of the series “My Name Is Zaratustra,” explaining the disappearance of the GG in books 3 and 4.
Our contemporary, who ended up in the past and made an astonishing career there, decides to go back. But it turns out his desperate flailing like a moth around a butterfly changed everything too much. The future he remembers no longer exists. There are no countries or peoples. Those who had been colonizers and were part of the golden billion became suppliers of guest workers. The epidemics that wiped out entire countries were stopped. And the world he found himself in was no direct descendant of the Greco-Roman civilization, which never arose here—instead it emerged from the Assyro-Babylonian Empire, with its contempt for human life and despotic style of rule. Nevertheless, landing in the same day and place from which the GG left for the past, he saw that civilization had advanced far beyond the year 2021 of our reality. But how can he return now?
