After yet another “side job,” a worthy member of the Guild of Contract Killers, Sheinie, unexpectedly made his life much more complicated: first, an old friend took on investigating the murder—one who has no idea about the “second life” of a peaceful librarian; second, the simple “side job” turned out not to be so simple— the “on-the-dash” investigation suddenly got taken up in the capital; and third, the Guild of Killers started asking questions to Sheinie.

Too much for one—let alone a lucky—contract killer. And especially when magic and renegade gods get involved…
