“DEAR DIARY, TODAY I AGAIN DID NOT KILL ANYONE. I’M PROUD OF MYSELF!”
That’s what Dante Reid, a former killer, might write. Now he’s retired and vowed: no more corpses. His plan is a quiet seaside town, minimal interaction, zero incidents. A new hobby—trimming orchids, not enemies.
But his peaceful life doesn’t last long. In his garden, a rarest-of-the-rare flower is in bloom—and the whole town wants to see it. The gardener sees ghosts. The town’s mayor blackmails him into working as his bodyguard. And to top it all off, someone kills people right during the fireworks and kidnaps a cat. With all of this, Dante Reid will have to deal—despite just wanting peace.
In this town, death is not only a crime. It’s a way to make connections. Unfortunately.
