“Don’t think I’ll accept your decision,”—his voice carries unwavering determination. “No matter what, I’ll find you, Nailya.”

“Useless conversation, Derek,” I answer grimly. “We’ll never be together. Just let me forget you, and you forget me too.”

“Never,” the dragon stubbornly repeats—“Never, hear me, Nailya—and I won’t accept it.” A defiant strand of hair falls into his eyes.

The carriage starts moving. Derek stands and watches as she walks away.

“You’ll have to accept it,” I shout. He shakes his head.
