The Outcast

Pieter Willems, expelled from service for theft and smitten with a beautiful Muslim woman, does something unthinkable for a white European in Malaysia: he breaks with colonial society and adopts the local way of life. However, when a cunning Arab adventurer sets a plot in motion to destroy his friend Captain Lingard’s trade monopoly, a question arises for Pieter: whose side will he take—rejecting the whites who turned him away, or supporting the Muslims?
