A Spark at the Tree of Life

Many years ago, a magician sealed part of a god into an amulet. Since then, that god has generously rewarded its owners: for someone comes power, for someone—glory, and for someone—painful death. Not wanting to leave the thing with the tyrant, Ella brushed the dust off her traveling boots and fled to human lands.

Even though the magical power no longer answers, the amulet still must be hidden securely, so the cruel conqueror can’t enslave the world with it. But the gods have other plans, and Ella has to worry not only about saving the area, but also about fighting for her own life.
