The author, Oksana Kirillova, spent many years studying archives to create characters who interact with real historical figures. All books in the tetralogy cover the period from the 1930s to the 1990s and take place in Germany and Russia. But it’s not just a dry account of history—it’s a gripping story of tragic love, shattered ideals, and unexpected twists.
