Empire of the Angels

The novel begins in a very original way: on the very first page, a “Boeing” falls on the main character. Instantly, the hero ends up in heaven, where he gets a job as a guardian angel. He is in charge of three very different human souls: one of them, over the course of life, turns into a black top model; another becomes a French writer (obvious self-portrait traits); and the third becomes a Russian orphanage kid.
