A person. A person never changes. Only a hundred years have passed since Steve Russell created the first Spacewar game, but in that time computer technology has made a gigantic leap. In 2062, the Nextlife corporation launched the virtual project Four Earths, giving humankind a new world. A world of fairy tales, a world of dreams—born right in a person’s mind. The air in Four Earths was intoxicatingly sweet, the water crystal-clear, and the lush green grass seemed created for meditation.
But people never change. Into this amazing world, along with humans, came war, lies, the thirst for profit, and betrayal. One of the creators of Four Earths, plunging into this hellish mixture, decides to change the rules of the Game—because even during war, a person must remain a person.
