In this world there is no night—only blue and red days that alternate. And there are werewolves whose lives follow the course of two luminaries: by day in one color they are human, and by day in the other color they are animals. A human remembers nothing about the time of being a beast; the beast remembers nothing about being human.
In this world of human mercy for those in whom human and animal natures have merged, two such outcasts go into an unprecedented country, U-Narinnu, in the Stone Forest.
On a red day the girl walks with a wolf; on a blue day the man and a big cat go. If, by the time the unheard-of Night arrives, they manage to be in the Stone Forest, then this world will have a chance to become different.
