At the edge of the Nameless Forest stands the village of Khrenodérki, and besides horseradish, it’s hard for Khrenodérki residents to grow anything. Love it or not, they can’t do without a witch. The local witch Svetlolika is good at everything: curing livestock, enchanting the vegetable gardens, and summoning the rain… But there’s trouble: she’s young and has entered marriageable age. The Khrenodérki people are worried. Who would dare part with their child and bring her to the altar of female happiness for Svetlolika? The girl is good, of course, but she’s a witch and lives in the forest, where there are plenty of predators and un-dead creatures. In panic, the head of Khrenodérki thinks that a woman without a husband is like a cow without a tether: the better pasture is where she goes. And he decides to marry the witch. As is proper for such a complicated matter, he asked advice from the local priest… Only no one asked the witch’s opinion. And a commotion begins in Khrenodérki. And then, from the impregnable — like a fortress — prison castle, an опасний prisoner escapes…
