The second book in the Adventures of Annie Fisher series. The girl arrives at Whitebor Castle to meet her new relative and mentally prepare for the wedding, but everything turns out not the way she imagined. The uncle-guardian shows absolutely no warmth; he is bold, mocking, and, to be honest, not very much like a person. The ancestral castle has too much life-like self-awareness for a pile of ancient stones, and in the hills around it, a mysterious otherworldly life boils.
